"Born into this world I had nothing on but skin
I could see and believe in that more than I could believe in sin
Nineteen years on down the road and I still feel the same
I guess I'm just a young old soul who is very slow to change.
We're all made of the same dirt just like diamonds in the rough
So I threw off all my dirty clothes to show what I was made of
There were girly shrieks of pure delight and I felt my face aglow
But not from being embarrassed, if we're alive our blood will flow.
I asked forgiveness from the people and I asked forgiveness from god
One of them seemed to hear me and the other I guess did not
And all the angry people just kept screaming for my blood
But I never heard harsh judgement nor forgiveness from above.
Now I argue with the dean it looks like I'm going to lose
His punishments are martyrdom and I sing the farewell blues
Goodbye all my friends I guess I've played my final part
But you must carry on make them have a change of heart.
Make them change their naked hearts."

Yesterday and today and forever
Tuned to that eternal quality of love
We flew through every cradle of time just to get here
Way out here in the impossibility of heaven.
I shoved my minor chords right down the street
But I wished I had the strength in me just to love them
Or just fly, jumping fields and fences
It's more beautiful than anything.
What power in the universe does not speak of love?
I try to live close to what I believe. But we'll see.
If I can see you at all. Write more letters. See the futility?
Go out on the limbs for love- it's alright.
She's so adorable I think it's deadly.
It's kind of a sore subject, I love every minute that I'm with you.

Cruising round the city, yeah
From the office bedroom
Cool rock and roll, rocking faces off
For no one
Running wild all over the streets
Is what I sit here and sing
Even if God did exist
The point is that it doesn't change a thing
Going out control
With this materially determined world
Qie wo de tou fa
Understand, cause it's mine
And you've got yours
This my city, I take it all in
As they mail it to me
I dunno, I got my umbrella back
After three whole weeks

We Eat Plastic

A good friend told me several years ago
that by the year 2025
No one on earth would be able to eat a salad
without there being plastic inside.
This stuff breaks down into little tiny pieces
then goes into the water then the rain
it gets moved around and put back into the ground
and grows into the wheat and the grain.
In the 80's everyone was worried about becoming mechanized
and turning into plastic people and such
but now that we're here and the metaphor is real
I don't think they were saying it enough.
There are two types of brains in the world
and you being one of the two
and not like the other, and not like your brother
still must be kind and be true.
Every single atom in every single thing
has a universe inside that's alive
and everything it feels and everything we do
is just speck in some other giant's eye.
It's an unknown known but everyone can feel it
and someone has just got to say it
and with this being true, the only question left for you
is how can we possibly hate it.
Everything you use that once you get rid of
we know that it doesn't go away,
so you must say a prayer to acknowledge what has happened
and this is what you're going to say:
I am food
I'm an eater of food
Hooray
We eat plastic
