A good friend told me several years ago
that by the year 2025
No one on earth would be able to eat a salad
without there being plastic inside.
This stuff breaks down into little tiny pieces
then goes into the water then the rain
it gets moved around and put back into the ground
and grows into the wheat and the grain.
In the 80's everyone was worried about becoming mechanized
and turning into plastic people and such
but now that we're here and the metaphor is real
I don't think they were saying it enough.
There are two types of brains in the world
and you being one of the two
and not like the other, and not like your brother
still must be kind and be true.
Every single atom in every single thing
has a universe inside that's alive
and everything it feels and everything we do
is just speck in some other giant's eye.
It's an unknown known but everyone can feel it
and someone has just got to say it
and with this being true, the only question left for you
is how can we possibly hate it.
Everything you use that once you get rid of
we know that it doesn't go away,
so you must say a prayer to acknowledge what has happened
and this is what you're going to say:
I am food
I'm an eater of food
Hooray
We eat plastic
